DOLL ARTISAN GUILD® (DAG) is a not-for-profit, incorporated, worldwide organization, founded in 1977. Our mission is to further the art of porcelain dollmaking by offering you instruction through written projects and seminars, by offering fun and belonging at festivals, conventions and other events. Also, by offering rewards through DAG competitions and through Doll artisan Guild School of Dollmaking’s title program. Our research department is also here for you to answer any of your dollmaking/history questions.
DAG offers you several publications:
- DOLLS Beautiful is printed four times per year with information for the porcelain dollmaker that enjoys making both antique and modern dolls.
- eDOLLS Beautiful is an internet based publication, sent out via email two or more times per year.
- Doll Artisan Guild News is your member newsletter. It is included with DOLLS Beautiful magazine. It offers information about DAG members and events, lists current DAG seminars, presents newly “Certified Doll Artisan” and “Certified Modern Doll Artists”, as well as reports on upcoming and past events, top-award-winning dollmakers and graduating “ Masters”, “Grand Masters”, “Doctors/Laureates”, and “Triple Crown of Dollmaking” title holders.
- Puppenmachen is our member magazine in the German language. Published by Verlag Puppen & Spielzeug, Duisburg, Germany, four times a year. For membership information, go to the “JOIN NOW” section.

DAG SCHOOL OF DOLLMAKING (DAGSD)
Offers dollmaking seminars in all aspects of porcelain dollmaking. Around 400 seminars are taught yearly by more than 100 certified instructors worldwide. Seminars are taught wherever there is a suitable studio and at the Guild’s headquarters in Oneonta, New York. If you wish, you may earn titles such as CERTIFIED DOLL ARTISAN, CERTIFIED MODERN DOLL ARTIST, CERTIFIED SEELEY PRODUCTS TEACHER, DAG MASTER OF DOLLMAKING, DAG GRAND MASTER OF DOLLMAKING, DAG DOCTOR OF DOLLMAKING (for Europe DAG LAUREATE OF DOLLMAKING), and DAG TRIPLE CROWN OF DOLLMAKING. DAG EVENTS AND SUPPORTED EVENTS.
Each issue of Doll Artisan Guild News presents, in a nutshell, upcoming events in “Dollmaker’s Calendar Watch”. DAG Festivals and Conventions are held in the US and internationally and consist of lectures, workshops, demonstrations, doll competitions, sales room, reception and/or dinner and festivities with award ceremonies, gifts and prizes. All especially for porcelain dollmakers.

DAG COMPETITIONS.
DAG competitions have been held since 1977 and offer the finest and most coveted awards in the dollmaking world:
The Millie for authentic reproduction
The Magge for modern dolls
Rolf Ericson’s Award for Outstanding Doll Sculpture for original dolls
The Aurora for small dolls, and
Eva’s Choice for so called imagination dolls or for special theme-categories.
Every doll in competition receives the ribbon it deserves and a written evaluation. Dolls are exhibited and dollmakers are rewarded at the award ceremony.

AFFILIATED CLUBS OF THE DAG
Your local dollmaking club may become affiliated with the DAG and receive special benefits and support. Please contact DAG for more information. For a list of current DAG Affiliated Clubs, go to the MEMBERS ONLY section of this website.
DAG MEMBER LOGO
Is available for you to use on business cards, in advertising, on your letterhead, and it is available free of charge. You may also purchase so-called “Doll Tags” with the member logo. These are little folded tags with the logo on the front and holes for a pretty ribbon to fasten the tag to your doll. Can be used for doll information, price, or as a mini gift tag. Logo is also beautifully presented on the D.A.G. Member Pin. The oval, solid brass pin features the logo in relief and is gilded with 24K gold enameled in red. Safety closure on pin. Gift-boxed. The DAGSD logos for different titles are also available on the doll tags and on sheets for use on your own printed material. Special logo for MILLIE WINNERS may also be requested from the DAG.
YOUR DOLLMAKING QUESTIONS
Dollmaking questions can be answered at DAG headquarters. The Guild welcomes visits, letters, phone and fax contacts. You can also post competition questions on the “Competition Questions” bulletin board. If you have a question or would like to see other posted questions, CLICK HERE.
